Do You Have A Construction Project We Can Help With?

Meet Ryne

For many contractors it becomes a generational career. Great Grandpa, Grandpa, Dad, and now “I” have to take over because “they” all started “this” company and “I” don’t want to let them down by choosing a different occupation.

For Paterson Construction however it’s quite a bit different. Ryne Paterson (Owner) came from a hardworking “office job” type family with his grandparents on one side starting their own travel agency that his mother and aunt continue to run and other set of grandparents owning a trucking company that they ran for many years. His father was involved in promoting race tracks most of Ryne’s childhood and is now in radio.

So one must ask themselves: “Where did Paterson Construction begin”? As a child Ryne was always interested in hands on activities, and like most adolescents school came second. When he became high school aged Ryne thought he wanted to be a mechanic taking high school shop classes through his sophomore year until one man asked him a question that changed everything. The Storm Lake/Alta building trades instructor Mr. Piercy asked Ryne “why don’t you try building trades for a year, and if you don’t like it you can go back to turning wrenches”? Ryne never looked back and began to learn the trade even competing in an Iowa Central Community College sponsored event that he took home top prize.

In the summer of 2006 Ryne was in the process of answering that dreaded post graduation question that plagues most graduates today: Where do I go, and What do I do? For Ryne this question was answered fairly quickly.

In August of 2006 Paterson Construction became official and started as a one man subcontracting business. Since 2006 Paterson Construction has grown into the premiere remodel and general construction companies in the lakes area using the mantra “We do things others won’t touch”.
